Special event insurance coverage means covering your event with a suitable insurance. Special event insurance usually protects the host against claims arising due to accidents taking place during the event. Protects the host from any damage caused due to the guests, bodily injury to the guests and alcohol related accidents. Whether your event is a small scale event or a big event, a family party or a business function make sure that you insure it to have a nice fun filled party without any tensions.

When choosing for your special event insurance coverage make sure you have the following components included in the coverage

1) Public liability which covers the claims that the public who attend your event against you. This amount can be decided according to the number of people attending your function. This is not very necessary if it’s a family event but very essential in large scale events.

2) Property insurance that covers the venue of the event. This depends on the total value of the venue.

3) Employer’s liability that covers the organizer or the host of the event against any claims against the employees. The premium again depends on the number of employees.

4) Cancellation covers that protects you from any postponement or abandonment of the event due to either adverse weather
The normal special event insurances range from $ 500,000 for small family function to about $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 for large scale events like business functions and international conferences.

The people who are generally protected by the policy include the business organization in whose name the insurance is purchased or in case of a family function up to 2 honorees can be protected. Remember that the vendors like DJ’s photographers etc cannot be protected by the insurance. Insurance coverage has to be bought at least 24 hours before your event. It can be purchased even 1 to 2 years prior to the event.

So get your special event insurance and have a carefree event.
